Restaurant Review: Thyme & Tonic, Upper West Side, NYC

If you happen to be on the Upper West Side and are in need of a vegan-friendly restaurant to go to with friends, look no further. Their cocktails, as pictured below, are cute and tasty. Their food is pretty good. It’s hard to find great vegan food, and this one comes really close. I came here twice with the same friend because we liked it that much. I must say, full disclosure, that the second time around we chose different foods. It didn’t turn out as well as the first time, simply decent. But I would go back again for their foods that I know they do really well and try their other menu items. All that being said, I highly recommend you check out the place for their drinks and my favorite items below!

Come here when:

  • You’re meeting up with a close friend
  • Early in the game dates (2nd or 3rd dates)
  • You’re looking for a restaurant with a great aesthetic to post online

Food Rundown:
The green cocktail is the Spicy Cucumber Margarita!

Roasted potatoes and thai spring rolls!

The dumplings on their own are good, but dipped in the sauce…FIRE. They’re completely vegan too. You won’t miss the meat. It’s been awhile since I had this order, so I don’t want to give a rating, but let me say it is worth it. Also, split between 2 people it’s a great appetizer.

The roasted potatoes were great, obviously. We love potatoes. A perfect appetizer when you want to play it safe for a crowd. I didn’t see it on the current menu; they might have changed it. But if you see roasted potatoes come back, get it!

their signature mahi mahi tacos!! DO NOT SKIP

One of the only things that is not vegan on the menu: the salmon tacos!! I was really surprised at how good it was. I ate this so quickly. So satisfying. The rice and beans were decently flavored. Lots of flavor on the salmon tacos. Amazing meal.
