Restaurant Review: Literati Cafe, Santa Monica, CA

Come here when:

  • You’re craving a breakfast burrito
  • You’re getting breakfast with a friend
  • You have work to do

Ambience description in 3 words:

Laid back. Work mode. Friendly.

Drinks:

Iced Spanish Latter (with oat milk): sweeter than your regular iced coffee, creamy from the (oat) milk. I like that instead of the typical cubed or chunky ices, they give iced coffee with crushed ice. More bang for your coffee buck imo. 10/10

Breakfast:

Vegan Breakfast Burrito: literally same exact texture of scrambled eggs I couldn’t tell the difference. I like that I got my veggies in with the tomatoes, avocado, and the salsa on the side (FANTASTIC!). 10/10

Breakfast Burrito (without the bacon): This is hands down the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. The eggs, cheddar cheese, caramelized onion, and tomato are the perfect combination. The ratio of tortilla to stuffing is also pretty on point. Sides came with guac, sour cream, and salsa — a perfectly balanced breakfast if you ask me. 10/10

Breakfast burrito (without the bacon, with spinach): Same breakfast burrito as above, but with spinach this time because you gotta get your greens in! I absolutely love this place and their burrito. When I come back to LA, there’s no question I’m stopping here for breakfast. 11/10
