I’d just like to preface this post by saying I love all of these gelato shops throughout Italy. But I think my personal favorite is the small one in Florence across the Ponte Vecchio called La Strega Nocciola. There’s just something the others don’t have: the ultra-creaminess, the real pistachio flavor. I fell in love with pistachio ice cream in this country. If you try to get pistachio in the U.S., it just tastes too artificial. The pistachio and dark chocolate gelato flavors in Italy are not to be missed. You’re truly missing out (I’m sorry to all who are allergic to pistachio, but at least you can still try the dark chocolate!). I hope when you make it to Italy, you’re able to try at least one on this list.
La Carraia (Florence)

Gelateria Dei Neri (Florence)

La Strega Nocciola (Florence)

Melograno – Fontana di Trevi (Rome)

Gelateria Profumo (Genova)

Gelateria Veneta (Perugia )

Venchi (Florence)

Last but certainly not least
Amorino (Multiple Locations)

Just so you know, there are two Venchi Gelato Boutiques in New York City as well! At Columbus Circle and Union Square!
